about

My name is Luara and I was born in 1987, in Brazil. When I was 17, I moved from my parents house to go to college in other state that tought me a lot. For my masters I went to Rio de Janeiro, and lived there for almost ten years. I've been living in São Paulo since 2018, with my dogs, Lino and Cacau.

My career in publishing started in 2012, when I was studying for a second college degree in German, and started working as an intern in a psychology publishing house. I discovered that my passion was in books, not teaching, and changed my course. I've worked with literary fiction and non-fiction, classics and up-market literature.

I'm the current publisher at Aleph, and I've been an editor for the imprints: Alfaguara, Companhia das Letras, Suma, and Penguin-Companhia.
